Welcome to Meribel

Meribel is  a paradise for mountain lovers, known as the sunshine valley the blue skies and incredible snow conditions make for an unforgettable holiday destination. With 15 peaks at an altitude of more than 2,500 meters, it's truly a dream for fans of winter sports and summer enthuiasts alike. We've compiled a list of our favourite restaurants and top tips to get the most out of the Meribel valley. Enjoy!

Lunch

A lovely little family run restaurant, just under the Rhodos mid station lift. They have great vegan and vegetarian options, a mezzanine to accommodate larger groups with a bit more privacy and a DJ on the terrace for some apres ski fun. Easy green track to ski to it from top of the Blanchot run/top of Rhodos lift and is accessible by foot – but requires some walking on the snow.

La Fruitiere is the restaurant on Le Folie Douce. The menu is a varied menu,lovely salads, steaks, seafood. Plus an amazing party on the terrace, starting from 2:30 every day. The ski to Folie Douce is a Blue run, but those non skiers, or those who want to indulge in the party after, the Folie Douce is at the mid station of Saulire and pedestrians can buy a pedestrian pass to go up and down the lift

A hidden gem in the woods. Follow the signs through the woods to find the restaurant – a fun adventure for children and Adults. The food is a wonderful mix of Savoyard favourites and hunks of meat cooked over an open fire. The Café Gourmand desert is a MUST!  Skiers find Le Clos Bernard by following the signs at the bottom of the Loze Chairlift – just off Le Blanchot run on the Altiport area. Non skiers can also join in for lunch and a horse drawn sleigh awaits you to whisk you up to the restaurant. To get to the Horse drawn sleigh, take the free bus service to Altiport and get off by Le Blanchot. Then it’s a 5 minute walk to the sleigh

Dinner

THE place to go in Meribel Village. The restaurant offers some more English bistro favourites. The pork chop is excellent and the vegetarian falafel scotch egg a welcome surprise and they have mouth-watering desserts. Easy to get to on the bus from Meribel Centre and walking distance from anywhere in Meribel Village

Cheese shop by day, Cheese restaurant by night. This place ONLY does Raclette, Fondue and Boite chaude! They have a secret recipe Fondue which is amazing and if you get to the bottom, make sure you ask for an egg!  

A gorgeous restaurant in the centre of Meribel, a stylist fine dining restaurant with impeccable service. Featured in the Michelin Guide for its exquisite food, it features dishes such as Grilled octopus with pumpkin, chorizo and spelt risotto, 7 hour confit beef with Foie Gras and mashed potatoes and Ris de Veau with buckwheat and gnocchi. Located in the old Cinema, it still retains the charm of the Alpes in a sophisticated manner

Winter Activities

Ski Touring

If you dream of un-touched powder and an empty expanse of fresh, fluffy snow this is for you! Arrange a Guide and go and explore the back country of the Alps. With skins on the bottom of your skis, you will trek up the mountain to find beautiful powder fields and experience the pure bliss of a descent across untouched fresh snow. A day with a qualified Guide will take you to areas of the mountains you may never have visited before!  We will be very happy to help you book this – please just let us know when you are booking  

Night Sledging

Every Thursday between 17:45 and 19:45 go full throttle on a sledge down the Little Himalaya piste! Takes the combes chairlift in Mottaret up to the mid station and then race your friends and family down to the bottom! Then finish with a warming Vin Chaud or Hot Chocolate at the end.

Paragliding

Face your fears and feel as free as a bird paragliding from the top of La Saulire or La Loze. With a qualified guide you will ski off the top of the mountain and take to the Skies for a birds eye view of the ski area below. Summer Activities

Hiking

Meribel is as beautiful in summer as it is in winter and has many activities to enjoy! Take the Tougnete lift, that runs all summer, to the summit and then enjoy a hike all the way down to Les Allues. Walking along the ridge line, up and down the small goat tracks and stumbling upon a half way rest/drink stop, this hike will immerse you in nature as you walk along tracks where you would normally ski! 

White Water Rafting

Just out of the Valley, towards Vallandry, you will find the White Water Rafting centre. The white water rafting descends down the Riviere Du Doron, a very well known white water rafting course in France. You will follow winding routes between cliffs and trees and try your hardest not to fall in, while crossing high class rapids. Via Ferrata

Over in Courchevel 1650 you will find the stunning Lac Rosiere, where you will find a lovely Via Ferrata route with stunning views over the Courchevel Valley. Once you have met your guide for the day, you will be kitted up with a harness and helmet before taking to the mountain to scale its heights.
